TAKE CARE OF YOUR MAKEUP BRUSHES

Have you invested in good makeup brushes? But are you wondering how to wash them? Or maybe how often? Then these tips will be of great help!

IMPORTANT TO CLEAN THEM PROPERLY AND OFTEN

Here are my best tips on how to take care of your brushes,
so that they stay just as beautiful for many years to come.

If you put off washing your brushes for too long, they can become a breeding ground for bacteria and, in the worst case, lead to blemishes. The skin can quickly become irritated and the pores can become clogged with oil and old product residue that has built up over time. So wash your used brushes thoroughly at least once a week. I know it's not the prettiest thing to do, but your skin will thank you, your makeup will look better and your brushes will keep their shape and quality much longer.

It is recommended that you lightly wash the brushes after each use so that the bristles are clean - you can use a " brush cleanser " for this or another spray that will remove superficial products and bacteria - this will also help the brushes stay nice for several years to come.

THIS IS WHAT YOU USE:

There are a variety of products you can use to clean your brushes. Many brands also have their own products designed to clean makeup brushes. Many people prefer a spray or so-called "brush cleansers" - these are easy to use and make daily washing a little easier. You can also use shampoo, zalo or various forms of oil.

Which products are right to use vary slightly depending on which dishes you are washing.

Natural hair brushes should NOT be washed with zalo. This will be too harsh on the bristles and they will lose their softness. For brushes with natural hair, I recommend using a good shampoo - this will keep the bristles soft. At least once a month, it is also recommended to use a hair treatment or conditioner (that you use on your own hair) to care for your brushes - this will also help keep the bristles soft and the brush in good condition over time.

Synthetic brushes are often used with liquid foundation or various cream products. These will be more difficult to remove with shampoo, so it will be an advantage to use zalo to remove makeup residue. Zalo also dissolves products that contain oil well. But REMEMBER - no zalo on natural hair!

HOW TO WASH:

1. Wet the hair with lukewarm water . Apply shampoo or brush cleanser of your choice to the palm of your hand ( or use a cleansing mat ) and gently massage the soap into the fibers.

2. Rinse with warm water until all soap/makeup is gone.

3. Squeeze out excess water and gently use a towel to dry the hairs.

4. Reshape the broom head to its original shape.

5. Let the broom air dry flat or with the bristles slightly downwards until it is completely dry. Make sure that no water residue slips back into the sleeve and the handle can come loose!

* If the bristles stick out a little after washing and the brush no longer has its natural shape, you can use a little aloe vera gel to shape the bristles back to their original shape. Let it dry completely - and voila... the brush is good as new!

NEW BRUSHES - WHAT NOW?

You should always wash your new brooms before using them to remove
the film that lies on the outside of the brush hair - this will also counteract
" Shedding " if you have purchased makeup brushes with natural hair.
